I have seen this type of reaction before.  It was the subject of many
legal claims some years back, both in the US and the UK. 

Here in the UK action was taken by a major union on behalf of their
workers who had been given flu jabs.  The firm of barristers employed
discovered many people had been affected.  Some had minor reactions,
just a tingling sensation in arm or fingers.  Others had mild paralysis.
The worst cases were total paralysis in similar form to Guillaume Barre
syndrome, with the paralysis taking even the ability to breath.  Unless
patients were put on ventilators in time, they died.

Compensation was paid out in the US where it was admitted that the
particular batch of flu vaccine had been contaminated.  No compensation
was ever paid out in the UK.  

Hope this is of help.  FWIW the paralysis eventually recedes, although
those who were more severely hit do not always recover fully, especially
if their hands and feet were not properly positioned, or if
physiotherapy was not applied while they were suffering.
