If it were my child, I wouldn't hesitate to do that, and I can't see CS causing an infection. My concern would be that I did not use too much volume for the bladder. I wouldn't want to back things up as far as the kidneys. Anything you put into the catheter will come back out just as quickly, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'd want to keep the CS in there for 5 or 10 minutes or so. Not being a doctor, this is not medical advice, but it sounds like it would work to me. I've had a child with a catheter, although we didn't try using CS in this way. I might want to try it right after a fresh tubing change.
