Silver is not, by definition, a heavy metal. It has an atomic weight of
about 107.88 The heavies start at AW 200.

Per research by a John Hopkins (maybe, memory it was published on this
list...) Ph D the toxic dose for an average human is about 18 gal/day of 10
PPM. Probably you can figure dog dosage per pound based on an average 150 lb
man, although many drug responses between species do not have a linear
relationship. Even massive amounts, like a quart a day or more, are not
toxic to people. One anecdotal report of diarrhea showed up here a while
back. The man was very old and frail, and responded with diarrhea from
relatively small amounts. ("Relatively Small" is a scientific term for "I
can't remember how much actually" It is in this list archives. A search
using "diarrhea" may locate it)

We need only a trace for nutrition; lots more for many infections or
neoplasms.

Silver is a heavy metal, we need only a trace. I would think dogs a
smaller trace in proportion to their size. When in doubt less is better.
