Observations on the lack of education in our schools.

Bless you, Bob LeeWas at the market and saw a lady looking at some bagged chicken, 10 lbs for
$4.50. Asked her how much it was a pound. She looked at it and finally said
she didn't know. So asked her if it was a good price. Again she said she
didn't know. I think she should stop shopping if she's that ignorant in the
basics of shopping.
Answer is $0.45 per lb and that is a bargain. A simple movement of the
decimal point one place. Seventh grade stuff.A few days ago was buying some metal washers at $0.50 each at a tire/truck
store. Bought four, so it was $2.00 for the parts. The clerk rang it up and
total was $2.13. Looked at him and said, "So your tax rate here is thirteen
percent". Looked at me real strange and finally said, "Yah, its been that
way a long time."
More ignorance. It was obvious the tax was seven and a half cents on the
dollar, so thats a 7.5% tax. Why aren't people learning anything in our
schools. Just basic stuff for heaven sake.
Had a spot of excitement a couple of days ago in Rosenburg. A 100 car train
of limestone derailed. 42 of the cars came off the tracks at a switch.
Railroad said that one car had a problem , and all the others followed it.
So badly bent up that none of the cars were put back on the track. All had
to be cut up and hauled out in pieces. Track needed a mile of new track, and
of course the removal of 200tons of limestone per car (thats 42), so thats
42 X 2 is 84 and add two zeros and they have 8400 tons of limestone to move.
What a mess that is. Its been 4 days and they are still at it. The tracks
run along side hiway 90 and it has been partially closed also.
See in the paper that the lawyer that was pleading for Gore at the Florida
Supreme Court had been barred from practicing law in Florida by the F.S.C.
Seems he lied about everything he told them and they have just finished
investigating it all. Florida Supreme Court sad they would not have voted as
they did if they had known the truth then. Recall they allowed the ballot
count to go on and the US Supreme Court put a stop to it. He also sent false
messages to the county ballot managers telling them it was ok to keep
counting.
Oh yah, I've had the what ever thats going around. Was down for two days.
Increased the CS intake. It wasn't getting into the sinuses where the
infection was at. The sinus would drip down the throat make it raw and then
make flim-flam in the throat and finally the dry heaves. Ugg. So put the CS
in a Sunbeam ultrasonic humidifier and breathed it up into the sinuses.
Viola, virus killed and soon all ok again. :-) Seems like a lot of people
are having it, and being sick a long time with it.
