Marshall- If the pool will be filled with city water it will contain chlorine. You would still have the chloride stain problem. I had high iron in my well water and found that when I tried to use chlorine as a algacide, I had the FeCL2 staining problem (BTW,Iron-ex from Grainger is the only chem. I found that actually works). I then used CS and it worked well.
