Those of you who just subscribed in the last day or three might need a bit of perspective on the list ...
First of all, we've just gone a good month or more in which I've had to do almost *nothing* in the area of discipline or guidance to keep the group on track. Things have been perking along just fine. Don't judge us on the basis of the current minor flap. Secondly, if you didn't see the list rules I posted a day or two back you may not be aware that I expect people to direct comments about other members' behavior or the way the list is running to *ME* in private e-mail, not to the list. My address is at the bottom of every message. By responding on list you only *amplify* the problem and stir up things that would otherwise be settling down. In other words, don't play list-cop. That job's mine! <grin> Third, *IGNORE* the handful of messages that will inevitably come through before people catch up with their mail and read my messages requesting them not to comment. <sigh> I do not pre-screen what comes through the list. If I did you'd have to wait a *long* time for messages to post, completely stalling the pace of discussions. You don't really want that. I invite you to let us know who you are and what you're hoping to learn. That's the surest way to spark a discussion of things you're interested in.
