Morning Terry,
I hadn't thought of that. I knew that the voltage
stayed the same in parallel, but it never occurred to
me that the current was split up over the 10 jars.
So if I used 20 jars, I would be brewing each jar at
1.25 ma?
NO....... This would not happen.
Terry, you appear to be a near genius at brewing CS, However if you
have a system that will not change the current as you add loads in
parallel, you have bested Einstein. <grin>
Sounds like you have a hefty power supply that has some unknown
percent regulation.
If you add a load in parallel, the basic rules that apply to circuits
will add the current as needed to each load, if you voltage source can
provide it without being overloaded which will manifest itself by a change
in voltage.
If the voltage changes, then the current will change to all loads equally.
The "Voltage NO Load" ratio to the "Voltage Full Load" is referred to as
"percent regulation".
Some of the genuine engineers on the list can explain this better. It has
been years since I studied all that.
Plus, I am only a redneck that has never been to school.
Some of us worry too much about details, while others worry too little.
I have some load resistors that would load your supply to allow you to see
how many jugs you could run.
These are very large resistors mounted on 1/4 inch alum plate. I built
this loading array to draw 100 amps at 12 VDC for some power supplies we
were building a few years ago. At 100 VDC, it would draw only about 12
amps. OF course some heating results that changes the resistance slightly.
Now, it just sits around getting in my way. I think it could be used for
antenna loading as well.
