Thanks Mike,

Left the old list long ago, cause of the nasty people on it. Looking forward to the new OT list.  :-)

 Bless you,     Bob Lee

Dear silver-list members,

Some months ago, Joanne and Tracy volunteered to start a list for our
members to use for off-topic discussions that had often made the
silver-list unuseable.

As many of you know, that Off Topic List has recently been turned into
a zoo by one of Joanne's friends, Greg. Joanne refused to do anything
to protect her members from him, and has actually put the list under
his control.

So I've set up an Off Topic List at Eskimo, as explained here:

      http://escribe.com/health/silverofftopiclist/m3.html

Greg has changed the name of the old list and has tried to be helpful
in making a smooth transition. However, he has also been rude and
hurtful to some of our members. (See example below)

I don't want any of you to be mistreated. There's a risk of that as
long as folks are still subscribed to Greg and Joanne's list. I don't
want anybody to stumble into that mess unexpectedly.

If you were ever subscribed to the old off-topic list and are not
actively interested in what's going on there now, please send an
e-mail message to the following address:

      [email protected]

Some of you are probably subscribed with the no-mail option, so you
aren't even getting messages. Please don't assume you're not subscribed
anymore. There's no harm in trying to unsubscribe in any case.

There hasn't been a lot of need here for the Off Topic list lately, but
we know that won't last forever. So please bookmark the new OT list so
you can follow discussions over there when you want to.

The dialogue below is the most recent example of the problems I'm
trying to prevent...

Helping people to subscribe and unsubscribe to the list is an
inevitable part of the owner's job. It can be annoying, but it is a
fact that some people will always want help. I've had a few people be
rude to me and have on occasion responded in kind, but I normally do
my best to be helpful and respectful.

Now I hope you understand the problem.

Be well,
