Dear listers... This came down the pike from my son-in-law. Typically comes from drinking contaminated water. I isolated her for one day, let her drink only CS, and she recovered in twenty four hours, back to her old self. I cleaned and bleached out the waterer, and refilled it with a diluted solution of CS, something I had slacked off doing because I haven't seen any sign of this common disorder. I used to have to go buy terramycin and treat them for several days, and I still occasionally lost one anyway. I'm thinking of installing an in-line CS injector in the water inlet, something similar to a hose-end sprayer for the yard, except I'll install an adjustable orifice where I can increase or decrease the amount that gets infused.
