Perhaps it is a compromised interior body terrain that allows for the over-growth of fungi. Low pH, poor calcium utilisation etc. This would also be fertile ground for tumour growth as well as the exotoxins that may initiate cancers.
If you correct for the fungi, then you probably also correct for the cancer, as well as improve the immune system's response to it.
