Thank you Christine and Mars. Your suggestions are right on target. Please be patient. An occasional eruption like this is the price we pay for keeping the list under "loose moderation" rather than "strict" or "full." I only read messages when all of you get them, and clean up the messes *after* they happen. The only other alternative would be to appoint a small group of volunteers to review and approve every message before permitting it to go out... which would be a lot of work and slow the list to a crawl. So to keep the list responsive and lively, I act mainly as gatekeeper and host, with the ultimate power to decide who can stay, and depend on each of *you* to police your own behavior in order to earn and preserve your place in the community.
