My thanks to John Stanley for his sleuthing. I am disappointed to see Mr. Janks resorting to misleading tactics in an apparent effort to promote his (or a friend's) business while other vendors have participated on this list for years while seldom overtly promoting themselves.
We've all benefitted from their willingness to separate their own businesses from *our* business of helping each other. Commercial promotion is not allowed here *UNLESS* it is pre-approved by me in each case. My aim is to keep the list non-commercial in nature. We don't want SPAM, and we don't want Vendor Warz. If you are a vendor of any sort, you may participate here as an individual so long as you keep your business dealings private, treat everyone else, including other vendors, with courtesy and respect, and avoid making claims or statements that can be seen as self-promotion or criticism of other products or vendors. Want to drum up business? Be helpful to others and soft-pedal your business interests. Read and follow the rules (see: silverlist.org). Hang around long enough for us to get to know and trust you. Share what you know wherever it will do good. Put a little blurb in your tagline or .sig. Keep up the good work, John. Anyone else who's handy digging into domains and IP addresses is welcome to assist. I don't want the value of our list to be diluted by this kind of manipulation. Spontanious testimonials from actual users are welcome, marketing hype isn't.
