Greetings Rob, I've sent this to the list and cc:'d you directly so you'll see it outside of the digests...

Unfortunately, that limits your use of the one vehicle for self-promotion that I generally permit -- the .sig or tagline. > I'm not out to hide anything... Thank you for your participation. > So yes, I am whole-heartedly pleased with this product and highly > recommend it. If you weren't, you'd be in the wrong business, wouldn't you? <grin> Seriously, being "in the business" handicaps your participation in this list. It must be assumed that, as sincere and honest as you may be, your opinion of your own products is biased. It essentially disqualifies you from recommending your own product or company or criticizing others'. > For all of the work involved, in production, packaging, shipping, > ordering supplies, paying bills, doing taxes, keeping up with all of > the business laws, the less than 50 cents an ounce charged doesn't > really go too far considering all the effort that has been and is > involved. ... I'm sure other vendors know what you're talking about. > I'm not here to get rich, only provide a product to those not willing > or interested in making it on there own. at prices most people can > afford, and just lately have offered a constant current generator to > make a quart or gallon for people wishing to make there own. It's a big market with room for all. The challenge for us is to keep our list from being dominated by competition between vendors, or the information we offer being tainted by commercial manipulation. To the extent some vendors have become "established" here, they have (and should continue to!) minimized mention of their own businesses and pursued overt promotional activities privately, if at all. Our business is answering questions and sharing information. The *best* people to comment on commercial products are the customers. Vendors are not really in a position to be recommending their own wares. > I am sorry if my previous post offended anyone, I was just trying to > answer someone asking for help and getting a little traffic to the > site. Your mistakes were attempting to "get a little traffic to your site" and adopting the appearance of a customer testimonial to do it. I appreciate your help, and nor do I begrudge you a little extra business "on the side." Please keep the nature of your interests above board and skip the self-promotion.
