The book "The Cure is in the Cupboard"  has directions using Oregano Oil to cure the worst of toothaches.  I have tried it and avoided a root canal.  I use a little CS to wet the cotton and then put 2 or 3 drops of Oregano oil on the cotton, and put it between tooth and gum overnight.  Mine was gone the next morning.  Be sure to read the book........
