We have found that Tylan is the best abx for swine arthritis resulting from
mycoplasma.

It is an antibiotic though and a tolerance develops.

Hi Marshall.......I got it from an animal supply company.......what I bought
is called Tylan 200 injectable.....but I am taking it orally......{putting it
in capsules}.........it is only about 20 dollars for a good sized
bottle.....250 ml........I'll post a little bit of the literature supplied with
it....as far as I know.....they don't make it ...or anything like it for
people.......we wouldn't want to put the rheumatologists out of work would
we?.......
Actions: Tylan has an antibacterial spectrum that is essentially gram
positive, but it is also active against certain spirochetes, large viruses, and
certain gram-negative organisms {not including coliforms}. It has also been
found to be active against certain Mycoplasma species.
In swine, Tylan 200 injection is indicated for use in the treatment of swine
arthritis caused by Mycoplasma hyosvnoviae; swine pneumonia caused by
Pasteurella spp.; swine erysipelas caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae;
acute swine dysentery associated with treponema hyodysenteriae when followed by
appropriate medication in the drinking water and/or feed.

The dosage is as follows: 4 mg per pound of body weight twice daily.
treatment should be continued 24 hours following remission of desease signs.

Great! I have never head of this drug. Was it prescribed by a doctor, or
did you get if from a vet or animal supply company? Is it liquid, pill, or IV?

I am coming to the end of my 4th day of being on Tylosin. I am having
the biggest and worst killoff of mycoplasma that I have ever had.....right now
if I had crutches, I'd use them. Everywhere on my body that has mycoplasma
hurts very very bad......which means I"m very very happy........this is the
first and only antibiotic that I've tried that has produced a herx effect.
From my life-long experience with hogs and cattle....at the end of 14 days I
should over this. I havn't encountered any other side effects from this
drug.......and I never have on any of the animals I've used it on either. If
this works, I will recommend it for mycoplasma. CS brought me a long
ways.....I used to be much worse than I am now........We have never seen a
reccurence of mycoplasma in any animal treated with this drug.......The
literature supplied with this drug hints that "cured" animals may pass
Mycoplasma to their young.....but we have never seen this happen
either.............Keeping my fingers crossed. Robb

Is this full strength H2o2, or the stuff you buy at the supermarket?

I don't know about the supermarket, but you
will find 3% USP grade at a drugstore.
That is probably what you want -- you didn't say.
If you plan to ingest it with CS then 3% is right.
