DMSO is a product of the pulp industry, until the late 1960s it was 
sprayed on the gravel roads as a waste product to keep the dust down. 
Anything to get rid of it. It's available by the truck load. MSM is 
simply oxidized DMSO. In this respect it is not a synthetic product and 
the raw material is readily available.
