Brooks,

I am very surprised to see a post from you like this because of your
very presence in the "microbes killing list" and because I've seen many
posts from you in which you shared your knowledge of how to kill more
microbes most effectively.

I am also very pleased that you posted this as I have abandoned my
strong fear of "bugs" and have been moving towards eating raw foods
(mostly meaning raw animal foods: milk, eggs, and flesh).

There is a web site dedicated to promoting unadulterated milk.
Pasteurization is a form of adulteration. The address of the site is
http://www.realmilk.com/. I would like to draw the list members'
attention to an article called Raw Milk Cures Many Diseases by J. R.
Crewe, MD at http://www.realmilk.com/milkcure.html .
http://www.realmilk.com/indexpage.html has articles that address the
safety issue, health benefits of (raw) milk from grass fed animals, and
other topics.

I would also like to mention Masai of Kenya. They are known to drink up
to 2 quarts of milk a day (meat and blood are other parts of their
diet); yet, they have been found to have virtually no heart problems or
any other degenerative diseases. If I am not mistaken, Masai consume
their milk cultured. They are not the only indigenous natives that have
been studied and found exceptionally healthy. Dr. Weston Price has done
a lot of work on this. He's written an excellent book called Nutrition
and Physical Degeneration. Could be gotten for free at
http://www.soilandhealth.org/.

By the way, many people believe that nutrient degradation also occurs
with other foods as well, e.g. eggs, flesh.
