I am wondering if anyone knows if the cs will repel ticks? And what
about mosquitos? Anyone know for sure? And what about mites? This is
sure interesting. I would say intriquing but can't spell it for sure. :)
Many factors enter into a plant or animal making repellents. Plants do
this, to the point of killing other plants. Some plants repel insects.
Due to genetic engineering, a cotton plant can kill a boll weevil. One
day we may be able to eat something whereas when a rattle snake bites us,
it kills the snake.
This past year, I had several people get stung by fire ants in my
blueberry field. This gave me an idea how to make a garter, soaked with
natural oils, ect to repel fire ants. Yes, it worked. I need to do more
research. It was amazing to see the fire ants run up to the repellent band
and turn around and go the other way.
Back to animals, including us humans, we do appear to make insect
repellents within the body.
For many years, mosquitoes were attracted to my fishing and hunting
partners from 50 to 100 times greater than they are attracted to me.
A number of times, when riding motorcycles in the woods, I would sit
flat on the ground and disassemble a carburetor in my lap. I would never
find a tic on my body, while others in the same area get tics.
As a matter of fact, I can't recall the last time I had a tic. It must
be 30 years or more. That is about as far back as my memory works, on some
things. I work outside a lot, hunt, fish, and hike a bit. I always sit
comfortably on the ground when eating or resting.
Some people have told me that vitamins, especially B vitamins help with
insects in South America.
I have read technical articles relative to amino acids repelling fish.
Of course no scientific studies have been done, so all we can do is to
be our own guinea pigs.
I have no evidence of CS helping any of this. Considering the reports
on the cats and dogs, it must enhance the production of substances that do
in fact repel some insects.
