I don't believe there is any conclusive evidence that it can cause
cancer, but then again the research could have been easily covered up by
the fda like so much other stuff.

The threory on it is that the body uses the sweat glands to expell
toxins. If you stop up the exit point, then the toxins will instead be
stored in the tissues of the breast, causing cancer.

It has nothing to to with aluminum directly, the theory would hold even
if you used tar or glue.
