I would think that the lymphatic system would clean out the dead ones in a 
matter of hours or days.

You second question is a good one. I think they use PCR or something like it 
for DNA testing. In some cases the DNA they collect is quite old.

The reason I was asking was because I remember reading somewhere once, about
 how, in the case of HIV, the infected t-cells are actually killed also - th
us releasing the inclosed virus (also dead) into the blood stream...  a
nd that it could cause an increase in viral load numbers until the body had 
a chance to filter all the dead virus out.  Now the problem is that I c
ant remember if I read this in association with CS, or if it may have been w
ith H2O2 or ozone.  The other thing I cant seem to remember is whether 
or not RNA PCR testing only counted viable viruses or whether it also detect
ed the RNA of a virus that has already been destroyed (by whatever method), 
and includes that in the tally?
