<<If SARS is transmitted thru the air, what have the air lines done about
the recirculated air in plane cabins? Have cockit crews experienced SARS?
Yhey breathe the same air as the passengers. >>

** There are a couple of factors here. One - it is probably the fine
mist that occurs when one coughs that spreads it. People have to be fairly
close for that. Two - if you have 11 people on an elevator that gets stuck
and one of them has bacterial pneumonia, how many will contract it?
Chances are just a few would. Immune system function plays a role in this,
but IMO, I have the suspicion that each of us has more or less affinity, so
to speak, for particular types of bugs.

What happened at that apartment complex where so many fell ill was
probably some face-to-face contact and contact with common area objects like
door handles leading outside, etc. There is evidence that a similar
coronavirus will last up tp 48 hours on a surface. I realize they are
focusing on the sewage system there but from what I'm hearing this could not
be the cause.

Catherine
