I have a hypothetical method for detecting SARS in vivo, which could
rapidly be tested in cooperation with medical doctors, including the
leading applied kinesiologist in the USA, Dr. Y. Omura.

It is possible tests are underway; I do not know as I am out of the
loop. I presented a lecture on this topic at the BTR 2002 Conference
last year, but the essay did not survive vetting. I will send the
article as a Microsoft Word attachment to individuals who request it,
preferably persons with some clinical medical credentials (which I
myself lack.) The ideas can and should be tested ASAP, and if the
people at the BTR have filed the essay in the "crackpot" file, it would
be a loss, methinks. The SARS spread certainly offers an opportunity to
test the concept, which specifically detailed an airport quarantine
scenario.

NB that airports in Japan are now testing thermographic video cams to
try to detect persons with fevers on the basis that these might be
active SARS cases. That the disease reportedly has an incubation
period of several weeks, and may be communicable or contagious during
that time, makes clear the poverty of this "high tech" approach.
Possibly the no-tech O-Ring Test for molecular resonance could detect
SARS cases at a very early stage.

Again, work may be underway; I have no idea. Accordingly, I can just
pass on the concept, which I call "frontline human sensors" in the
context of bioterrorism threat reduction. In the SARS case, I would
just call it a potentially priceless epidemiological tool.

The essay is available to those who send me a direct e-mail request.
