jeff, i use the same meter on my setup. i put alligator clips on the + and -
leads. clip the positive lead from the power supply to the positive lead of
the multimeter. with a loose alligator clip, attach the negative (black)
lead of the multimeter to the positive silver wire. attach the negative lead
from power supply to the negative silver wire. turn on the power, on the
multimeter rotate selector to DCV,, 20 to measure your power output, up to
20 volts. if you are running 27 volts, use the 200 position.

to measure how much current you are using, select DCA,, 20m. this gives
the current thru the system, in millamps. with good quality distilled
water, my units starts at around .27 milliamps. i brew up to around 2.5 to
3.0 milliamps, and get CS with a slight tinge of yellow and very little
metalic taste.

for those using this meter from harbor freight, this thing has a fuse inside
that protects the milliamp position. after blowing two of these 1/4 amp
fuses, (and this is easy to do in this setup) i picked up a 4 pak of 1/2
amp fuses at radio shack, and these solve the problem. the only reason i
went to 1/2 amp instead of 1/4 amp, was that radio shack was out of the
1/4's.

my next improvement to my system is current limiting, if and when i figure
it out. ''

hope this is clear enough,

jim
