I know how confusing this must be the first time. I can never figure out 
how to program my VCR:)

Is it working OK now? What is the initial current you read with fresh 
distilled water?

Here's a quick tip - you can check if the fuse is blown by placing the 
dvm on the most sensitive range (200uA for your meter) and touching the 
probe tips to your tongue. The acid in your saliva forms a chemical 
battery with the metal in the probe tip and generates a small current 
that you can read on the dvm.

If the fuse is blown, you won't read any current.
