Hi Ken,
That's incredible!
What current density are you using, and what is the source voltage?
Volts in is 24 vac [81 vac peak]
Volts out at no load is 28 vdc
I assume you have current limiting - what is it set to and how long
is the run?
Current controlled to .94 ma / 6.5"submerged x 12 gauge wire
electrodes 1.5" apart formed into a 'U' shape with ends out of the
water [no edges to concentrate ion discharge]
I have a small 2 1/2W thermal stirrer and have experimented with
different current densities and brew times. But mine still comes out
clear and turns straw yellow or slightly pink the next day. After a
while, it plates out on the side of the glass.
I use a 7 watt nightlight bulb in a base with a 1 1/2" opening directly
centered between the electrodes.
The yellow color will plate out onto the container after a while...if
it's yellow. H2O2 instantly dissolves it.
I never kept pink or violet long enough to find out what it does. {pink is
hard to make and easy to dump}
It works fine as an antibiotic/antiviral, but I'd like to avoid
having to scrape the silver off the side of the glass:)
No silver deposits on glass, very few deposits of any kind
anywhere. Runs pretty clean.
What kind of distilled water are you using? Or have you noticed any
change in the results due to dw from different sources?
Local DW ranges from .9 uS to 4.5 uS
I believe I used the 4.5 uS water from Food Lion on that 100+ PPM
batch...usually do.
I've had 'some' problems with the .9 uS water making a batch that yellows
with the old model generator but not with the series 2 thermal. [something
about setting up feedback loops while the current is very low for hours and
hours?]
Different locations have different impurities in the water which may make
the batch go off. Problem spots include parts of Wyoming and Florida so
far. [These are also high sulphur regions but I don't know if that's 'it'.]
"I" can't seem to make a bad batch, though I have had batch or 3 go murky
violet after a month or so while sitting in areas that experience wide and
fast temperature shifts. [or maybe I "spit" into the container while
sipping straight from the bottle?] This is very rare.
I use an old clear glass gin bottle for storage.
Ken
Best Regards,
Mike Monett
