Hah! They got your interest with an intriguing subject line to get
you to click on the message.

There's nothing there. They only want to verify your email address
is active so they can sell it to spammers.

These guys are crooks and liars. Never believe anything they tell
you, and never click on an email message from someone you don't
  know.

Get a really simple, dumb word processor that doesn't respond to
html or macros. Open the email message and look at it. If it doesn't
look like something you might receive from a friend, delete it.

I've looked at various antispam programs, such as reviewed by
  PCWorld at

  http://www.pcworld.com/resource/printable/article/0,aid,109698,00.asp

Most of these programs are useless. They are slow and have terrible
error rates. Anything less than 100% accuracy means you risk losing
  an important message.

Until they achieve the speed and accuracy of my software, I think
you are all suffering the consequence of lousy programming.

I don't mind if an occasional spammer comes up with a new technique
that gets through my filters. That is easy to fix. But I find that
none of the available programs have the capability of detecting some
  of the new tricks.

If you are a programmer and can read Pascal, I keep a copy of the
latest source for my program at

  http://www3.sympatico.ca/add.automation/misc/spa2e921.zip

And here is a typical log file:

  Tue May 13 2003, 11:27:16
Total number of bytes = 37,905 Elapsed Time = 0.012091 sec
Number of Good msgs = 2 Number of SPAM msgs = 6
Number of Good bytes = 25,686 Number of SPAM bytes = 12,219
  Messages/Second = 662 Bytes/Second = 3,134,924

I haven't had a single error in many weeks. Match that speed and
  accuracy with your program!

Best Regards,

Mike Monett
