Hi Becky,
Thanks for not getting mad at me for posting your email without
permission. Ordinarily, I would not post private email, but since
your question was a good one for the list, and I only used your
first name, I figured you wouldn't mind.
Really great idea you have. I wish more people were so loving.
I really am the wrong person to ask about shelf life. None of the
stuff I made before starting the low density process lasted more
than a few days.
But Ole Bob convinced me it is possible to make high concentration
cs that won't degrade in storage. He mentioned leaving a full bottle
in direct sunlight for a long time with no change. I don't have the
link handy, but it was fairly recent - in the last several months.
So I think the key is the current density that was used to prepare
the cs. A high current density is fatal. A low current density
works fine.
It may depend a little on the quality of the distilled water, but
from my recent comparison, 1.49 milliamperes per square inch is too
high, and 277 microamperes per square inch seems to work great.

So the critical current density is somewhere below 1.5 mA / sq. in.
Exactly where, and how critical it is, and what influences it, I
don't know yet.
Best Regards,
Mike Monett
