It's the tyranny of the masses that gives us things like witch hunts and lynchings on scales both small and huge. Democracy may be the best system of government we've found so far, but that doesn't mean it's a good one.

We don't actually have a democracy because virtually none of the voters want to take responsibility for what happens.

We actually elect fall guys... representatives of our collective psyche. [most people are quite insane..but then, so are most of the back stabbing fall guys 'we the back stabbing people' elect]

We elect people whom we authorize to take things from others and give them to us. We elect people who will cater to our fears and take the blame when their attempts to make us comfortable, self righteous, allow us to get away with being ignorant and complacent, as we desire to be, socially engineer a whole segment of the population into a criminal class ...as we demand. [Then find ourselves to be 'it'] We elect people to take control of someone other than us because we can't seem to control ourselves or take responsibility for our own wild ideas and greedy scemes so we can blame them when we just so happen to be the people who need to be controlled. [Hired finger pointers?]

Thing is, if we had respect, we wouldn't need laws.
We have gang rule because we're so willing to gang up on each other.
The only difference between this tyranny and any other is that we have some sort of a say in who gets the shaft...and can avoid taking the blame for the stabbing. It's " When they do what I do better than me...Go get em boys..but don't tell me about it". What a deal! [Until you just happen to be the them] It's, "I feel uncomfortable and guilty...go put someone in jail for doing what I want to do"

In many ways, a dictatorship is more honest. The real assailant has a face.

The above is a little confusing:

Ken (Ode Coyote) wrote about "...the
tyranny of the masses..."

My reply to that was to suggest that
the worst form of tyranny would be a
pure democracy.
