Good news! The archives appear to be back up.
All the messages that were sent while it was down are there, but
clumped together under today's date. Otherwise, nothing was lost.
The archives are hosted by escribe.com. Scott and crew do not charge
list owners for the service, but try to recoup their costs through
advertising sales and donations.
If you use and appreciate the archives, consider making a donation. It
will have two benefits: it will encourage them to maintain and upgrade
the site; it will also eliminate the annoying pop-up and banner adds
for a period of time.
If list members will contribute a total of $100 to the Community Chest
for the Silver List, it will eliminate banners and pop-ups for the
entire year. Even just a few bucks will purge the ads for a week or
two.
At the top center of the archive index page is a link:

There they explain the program and offer a form with various ways to
make your contribution, including check or money order, credit card, or
Pay-Pal.
I don't make anything off of this, but I appreciate the service they
provide, and would appreciate if some of you would express *your*
appreciation to them, as well.
I'm good for $10 if some of you will chip in! Lets kill the ads for
the rest of the year. Any takers?
