Silver Friends, Having just returned from vacation in the U.S., for the first time I'm using the Hanna PWT. What fun! The following results are simplistic, no doubt, but great verification of a lot of tinkering. One problem I have is that I do not have the Hanna PWT instructions, either for the device or for the calibrating solution. (This is because these were given to me by my father). Can someone tell me: ARE THERE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WEB??
My simple results (what a thrill!) follow: 1. Common mineral water tested 1---., which I assume to indicate 'off the scale.' 2. The ditilled water I normally use for HVAC CS indicates 1.5 ppm. 3. The tail end of a batch of HVAC CS (made four months ago) indicates 25 ppm. 4. In a 250 liter glass, the distilled water of #2 gains about 1.0 micron for each drop added of Mexican Microdyn, 0.32% solution (3200 ppm). i.e. to get 10 ppm I use 10 drops. Next is to test the de-ionized distilled water I use for making concentrated CS, water previously tested in a lab at 7.0 TDS. Then I can dilute my concentrated CS to determine ppm.
