Yup The social order likes to take sortcuts. If you CAN get in trouble, be it sex, drugs or loud music , they say "Don't do it"..and if you do, we'll toss you in jail. You never get the truth about the risks so sensible decisions can be made. You just get a lot of propaganda and moralizing using extremely distorted facts to back it up. Of course, when the "facts" don't add up, any curious kid is going to try and find out for themselves. Well, being stupid has it's own consequences and people can learn. Jail doesn't discriminate..it hurts everyone.
"They" are attempting to make the world so safe that no one will have to 'think' about anything to stay alive and unharmed. Ya had better not walk off the trail. You may discover that you never learned how to walk. But you won't know that till you stumble a few times. Crikey! I've seen whole families just walk right up to the edge of a cliff without checking the stability of the ground! I've seen people run down mountains! ...and not a single thought about how it's 150 roadless, cell phoneless miles to the nearest hospital. Just the other day a whole family just walked out in front of traffic on US 421 without even looking. They 'expected' that drivers [running 60-65 MPH] would stop for them and no thought at all about what might happen if they didn't. Well, they were right...that time. You think maybe they'd trade one of their kids in for a 'settlement'? [on purpose?] Good golly, people are getting dumber than deer. ..and count on people just like them to look out for them?
