Hi Marshalee, I can't help on th Lupus deal but here is a fact that most people are not aware of. A major culprit or cause of many of our diseases is due to low thyroid activity.
A lab test is not needed in fact they are notoriously inaccurate. The best test is done a home with clinical thermometer. Shack it done and place it by your bed. When you wake up in the morning before getting out of bed place it in your arm pit for ten minutes. The good range is from 96.2 to 97.2 deg F. If it reads 96 or less like mine (95.8) then you are in trouble. It can cause a whole rang of things, i.e. decreased heart rate and cardiac output (my heart output is 20% of normal) increased weight gain (pot belly) Pain where ribs meet the sternum memeory loss unexplained crying morning headaches and dizziness loss of hair, especially above the eyebrows constipation ringing in the ears allergies frog like voice muscular sluggishenss and weakness If you can get access to Dr. David G. Williams periodical "Alternatives" for November,1999, Vol 8, No.5 it covers the problem and how to over come it.
