Tigard used to be pretty good scrounging.) Common item in PNW thrift stores as I remember. Get some kind of flopsy tubing like the two inch stuff for the shop vacs or the bigger stuff off the backs of clothes dryers, or whatever, (Home Depot??) put it into a feed (nose) bag right in front rather than at the very bottom, kinda aimed at the nostrils and leaving room for a couple handfuls of oats or COB at the bottom, other end to the nebulizer's output. Ought to be worth it for the entertainment value alone! And what kind of hay do You eat??<g> Personally I prefer silage with garlic dressing. And how did someone get a horse to smoke, or is that a euphemism for a barn fire??Take care, Malcolm At 11:34 PM 9/17/03 -0700, you wrote:Jack, apparently the Pony had a pack a day habit before coming to live with us. We cut her off, cold turkey. My father died of lung cancer, so there was no way I was going to let a smoker in the barn. Unfortunately, I can't afford that nebulizer gadget for horses. It costs more than we spent to buy her. Wish I was handy and could figure out how to make one. I may try Catherines blanket over the head routine. It's good to know that you have restored some lung function...what kind of hay do you eat, and do you water it down first? It helps with the dust.SharonSharon 9/17/03 9:41 AM Wrote:We have a pony with COPD, and I think I will try using CS on her.****************************** Hi Sharon, I was diagnosed with COPD caused by my smoking. I have managed to quit smoking, and have had very good results restoring lung function with a nebulizer. Do you really think you should let your pony smoke? :-) Jack Be Nice -- Be Nice -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. ROFL- No I was following Jacks lead. Who really knows what happened
to her. It is not only smoke that causes lung damage in horses. Like
the other poster with a colt who had an infection perhaps she had an
infection of the lungs which was never treated. So she developed this
cough. But she also has allergies to things horses usually tolerates
well, like, wheat. So she has a double whammy and I am not sure the
CS will help. but I figure it is worth a shot. I like my roughage as
silage too. I think it's tastier. ; )
