HDPE should have not taste, it should not be solubile at all. For some unknown reason, some bottle manufacturers want to add plastercizer to HDPE, which is totally unnecessary, since HDPE is almost waxlike to start with.
If this is the case, you can easily get the plasticizer out of the bottle by baking the bottle in an overn at 150 F for 24 hours. If you do that, then any plastic taste should be gone if you use it later for CS.
