Dear Marsha,
Fire ants are predators primarily, (although omnivorous in actual practice)
attracted foremost to animal-type protein.
Fire ants (I am almost certain), do not possess any of the "enzyme-dependent"
type organisms as do honey bees or termites; therefore, CS would most likely
be an ineffective
control mechanism.
Sincerely, Brooks.
p.s. My congratulations on completing your undergraduate studies and gaining
your degree. I am confident you will be successful in whatever path you choose
in the economic world....but more importantly; I KNOW you will be of most
value----both to yourself and others---through following your innate desire to
help all sentient life forms.
