Hi, Tom!

Thanks for your experimentation. I
think your results are very important
because the product did not depend
on stirring/mixing. This is definitely
out of the ordinary.

External testing is a great idea. I am
sure Ole Bob can help, and others too.

I am a little concerned, though, that
in-house assaying has not become
a common practice. I am starting to
gather together the necessary apparatus
for a miniature wet-chemistry lab just
to do the salt titration. So far, it has not
been exorbitantly expensive.

The greatest expenses have been for
a miniature equal-arm balance, a
burette, a burette holder and a lab stand
to hold the burette holder. But pipettes
may do the job almost as well as a
burette, and are a lot less expensive.

I've decided to use three salts, not just
one.Sodium chloride, naturally, is the
first salt. Potassium chloride is readily
available in hardware stores as a water
softener. The third salt I intend to use is
sodium bromide because it is readily
available in hardware stores as a hot-tub
pre-conditioner. I bought 2 ounces today
for two dollars - enough to last a lifetime.

Best wishes on the testing!

Matthew
