I had/have the same concerns. 1. The white filter stick seems to be more of a wick than a filter, and the mist comes out so fast and strong that I just can't imagine that a whole lot of 'filtering' is going on. 2. Three sick females presently in the house all claim that this thing is making them feel better. God bless whoever made it, if my wife & daughters even THINK they feel better LOL! DB
