Listers,
Happy new Year!
I have a friend that was so debilated with Ross River Virus, he couldn't
work, and could not even sttart his car, because of the joint pain in his
hands.
In desperation he used shock from an electric fence, the result? He is
back at work, vital, and playing squash again, working with not one hint
os pain etc.

Dear John and others:
The Old Farmer here. One never knows how the human "electric power grid"
will react. Electric fence shock is probably not taught even in the Medial
School senior year :-). Actually such shock is high voltage, low amperage
(current flow) and
normally would not be harmful but WILL get one's attention. So good that
it worked for your friend.
At age 20+, fresh back from WW2, I divided a Sudan grass cow pasture with
an electric fence using a single strand of barb wire. Rather than trying
to cross over the wire one day, I ducked under but my bare skin back
touched the wire..."how fast does one move when one is shocked by an
electric fence"... REAL FAST but may I caution that the direction of the
move is very important. Nearly 60 year later, I still have about a three
inch scar-reminder upward from my waist as a reminder of the
good old days of youth, although I had not thought of this until I read
your E John., from down under where I should have
been. Yep, an electric fence does get one's attention much like a running
engine's spark plug wire.
Best, appreciation and Happy New Year,
Marshall Woodson
