I was only trying to give everyone a hypothetical situation which can
exist and does happen.
A friend is doing some of this now and using me for a guinea pig. I am
getting emails that show a "from" and email address of a list
owner. True, if I study the header in depth I can spot the forgery.
This can only be a "non forgery" if the hacker or troll gets the other guys
password. Still, it will fool 99% of the people.
The best thing to do in some situations is "keep quite".
For example, we had a troll on one list that was sending nasty, vulgar
messages trying to make one want to fight. Most list members would
comment about this on the list. This is just what the guy wanted.
I never mentioned one word about the messages he sent to me. If you do
this, he will get bored and quit.
I never said this was the situation with Jack. I simply felt that most
do not know about this potential.
