Greetings folks, Bad news this afternoon! A virus just snuck past the list's filters for executable attachments.
It was in a message from [email protected] with an apparently blank Subject line. The attachment was called "aabdb.zip". Obviously ---- DON'T OPEN THE DARNED THING! It's probably the new beagle whatever virus. I'm tackling the problem with the filters now. The first thing I will do is temporarily reduce the size of message the list will accept to about 20 kilobytes. That alone will stop these attachments. Then I'll have to test to make sure the filters are actually *working* to block the format of this mail... I'll clearly label any test mail that I send... Please help anybody who needs it if, god forbid, somebody gets infected. Thank you for your patience folks.
