Hi Bill,

Humorists and cartoonists have a long-standing
tradition of poking fun at cruel researchers who abuse
lab animals. At night in the lab, when the researcher
has gone home, the crafty clever animals conspire to jinx
the experiment and take their sweet revenge on their
human.

Oddly enough, this humor has come true. Statistical
epidemiology allows ethical investigations based on
observation of humans instead of interventionistic control
of lab animals. But we all know that statistics is
"sadistics."

Best regards,

Matthew
