Thanks for this, Mr. Harris.

I think it would be helpful if people -- such as you -- who have many years of experience -- would publish more information that makes clear the extent to which the FDA has abused its powers in some instances.

The key word is experience; you have a lot of that, and your observations carry considerable weight, I think.

Maybe you could elucidate on your website, attaching something as a pdf essay for the general public. I think it would be interesting to see how your relationship with the FDA evolved over several decades of close observation.

Cheers,

Thanks again, Mike,

As a Pharmacist since the advent of FDA, I've been around and attempted to understand some of their terribly mistaken Bureaucratic Abuses. I agree with your observation and assessment that our FDA has harrassed Dr. Jacob for years without any understanding or mercy. The FDA Director and a couple of MD henchmen passed inhuman rulings and influenced our legislators to kill DMSO in these United States. The Pharmaceutical Companies who took part in researching DMSO were told by the FDA Director in so many words, "Forget about DMSO if you EVER want to get another New Drug Approved!" Extreme Pity! I recognize DMSO and CS as 2 special Gifts from God to help mankind without impoverishing them. I sincerely believe that there has never been a death
from responsible use of either. Most of the rest of the world have been
enjoying the health-giving benefits of DMSO & CS.

Sincerely,
Richard Harris, 56 yr FL Pharmacist

To me it is interesting that we can not say, in this case, that "the
big pharmaceuticals" were the sole agents for stopping approval of
DMSO for most approved medical uses. IAW, the whole mess is a lot
more complicated than some might suggest.

As I recall from Dr. Jacob's book, or another I read, the cause of the
FDA's action was that DMSO was starting to get too popular. People were
starting to use it in large numbers outside of clinical control and the
FDA, which had just received new powers to regulate things decided to
flex its muscles. It was a political action motivated by power and
control issues at FDA rather than pharmaceutical company greed.

I believe the FDA director at the time was personally involved and made
stopping DMSO one of his pet projects. It was a grudge issue for him.

That's what I remember from my reading a couple of years ago, anyway.

Be well,

Mike D.
