As long as I have the message size set to only 18k bytes, it's vital that you trim all unnecessary quoted text from your replies, *AND*, as in Rowena's case just now, turn off HTML if your message is larger than a few paragraphs. In Outlook Express, that means clicking Tools > Options > Send and clicking the Plain Text radio button under Mail Sending Format. Sending HTML is a liability for mailing lists. The biggest problem is size. By default, your message includes a plain text version plus a complete second, and much larger, copy with all the HTML encoding added, making it something like 3 times bigger than it has to be. In addition some members will not be able to read your message at all, due to incompatibilites among mail reader software, and others will see all the HTML gibberish clogging up your text. Some will, of course be able to read it just fine, and maybe even see the pretty pictures and hear the nice music you've added to your "stationery." (Leaving even less room for the actual text you want to send.) <sigh> Thank you folks.
