I've had good luck with using a cotton pad cut into a small enough piece to
hold against the gum. I use a combination of CS & DMSO & a drop of tea tree
oil. I alternate with Olbas salve. You can get this in some health food
stores. If they don't have the salve, try the oil. It's great for drawing
out inflammation. I currently have a gum abscess that finally came to a
head. I punctured it with a needle dipped in CS / DMSO and then applied
hydrogen peroxide.

I had a much worse gum abscess almost exactly a year ago but was on a trip &
only had CS with me. It did not work as well alone as with DMSO / hydrogen
peroxide / Olbas / tea tree oil.

Subject: Re: CS>Silver For Infected Tooth

I have an abcessed tooth that the dentist recommended I have a root
canal or have it pulled. I am waiting until my dental insurance kicks in
this summer. What I have been doing is applying DMSO and CS directly to
the gum or holding it in my mouth for as long as I can and then I
swallow it. It is definitely keeping the abcess in check, I have no pain
when I do this at least once every few days. If I ignore it the pain
comes back.

I do not know if I might be able to totally clear the abcess done
frequently enough. I think the tooth is dead, but I am not clear on that
either.
