One thing I can tell you is that scientists are not a quiet thoughtful
lot. Many people are surprised to learn that we often shout, argue and
get into long running battles to prove the other wrong. Just the nature
of the beast I suppose. If we did not care passionately about our work
what would sustain us? 

It is not an easy road, always having to be 100% correct and supported
with double blind studies that cost millions of dollars to carry out. 

Basically we are held to standards that no one else, least of all the
detractors, are held to, when making statements about personal
observations.

So no I do not wonder how wars start. <smile> It is the killer instinct
in humans and the tendancy to want to assert superiority as a group over
an individual.
