Thanks Ode, by the way is the transistor part number a 2N3906? True applying Ohms law it doesn't make sense... I am going to build one and pay with it... Let you know how I go. John
3906 small signal transistor will handle up to 40 volts. I use about 32 volts out of a 24 volt transformer to start, then, of course, the voltage goes down from there as the current gets adjusted to stay constant. Strangely, the voltage levels off at around 4vdc and conductivity keeps rising at a more or less linear rate while current stays rock steady. According to ohms law, that ain't possible.
