Hi folks,
If you aren't already following the earlier advice of using prophylactic
methods of stopping viruses, trojans and worms to protect your personal
data, it may already be too late to worry about really erasing files on
your system.......
I was snooping around a SkriptKiddeze Site last night and found an
interesting discussion about who had the biggest zombie list. These people
were talking tens of thousands EACH and not bluffing - they test each other
continually.
A "zombie" is a compromised P.C. like yours that they have been able to get
a program onto via many methods....... most commonly an email "from your
mom" who's machine was infected.
It is like a spy hidden in your machine that may be reporting EVERY single
thing you do on your P.C. to its Master hidden out in the Cyberbog. That
includes your bank details, your porn visits, your business details, your
overseas hidden Account transactions, or simply your Credit Card details.
There is even a secondary but very important function of your zombie
machine and that is to take part in similar attacks on other machines and
institutions all over the world by combining a little bit of processing
power from thousands of machines. All without your knowledge.
Here is a repeat of the earlier advice - oh, and also a neat little program
to REALLY destroy evidence on your own PC as discussed yesterday:
