Well an update on Lucky my Akita with widespread bacterial infection.... I emailed a friend who has been helping me extensively with Lucky and pretty much introduced me to CS and this is what I wrote to her just now as an update today:
"Thursday I doubled his dosage of CS from 4 Tablespoons to 8 Tablespoons daily. AND added Gatorade which I think is helping a lot. Today he is acting better than ever, I think he feels better than he has in a long time :) My theory is that the CS is really starting to address the infection, probably resolving some of the internal infection which might explain why he has been in a bit of a funk, and I am confident the skin will follow. The skin always takes the longest, holistically and allopathically. Even antibiotics for chronic skin infections in dogs are prescribed for far longer than average antibiotic use period for other infections. So I have no doubt it will address his skin in some fashion sooner or later. The point is he is feeling better. Just like when humans have an infection and they are put on a round of abx and start feeling better usually long before the infection is gone and the course of abx is up which is why doctors hound patients to FINISH the abx, just because one is starting to feel better doesn't mean everything is cleared up. I always put mentals a priority over physical anyway. The fact that he acts spunkier and has more of a sparkle means a whole lot more to me than his skin is still infected. So, I am optimistic. It is nice to have a nice day like this." Unquote. I would also like to thank MA for helping me not to be afraid to give Lucky larger quantities of CS. My generator will be here tomorrow and I might even up it from there but I will certainly be adding it to his water. Anyway, y'all rejoice with me!
