Thanks Ed. I have a email into one of their distributors and am waiting
for a reply. The product they sell for addition to paint to reduce VOCs
is a powdered ceramic made from clay that contained the organisms. It
mentions the imprint of the bacteria so I am not sure if they are saying
any of the organisms survive or if it has some other mode of action. I
have read else where that they do survive and that vessels made from
fermented clay are suppose to have health and preservation qualities. It
is a new topic for me so I am doing as much as I can to learn about its
many uses.

I did ask on the EM List why they feel that their product is different
from other probiotics of the same species names. Particular strains can
surely be developed so I am curious if this is just a case of marketing
ones proprietary product and making claims that are not verifiable or if
they have found it to be truly superior. There are many strains of
probiotics on the market. I have used some of the high count liquids and
can attest that higher counts do make a difference when you look at
yogurt vs taking the super concentrated liquid products.

I tried Kombucha in the 90's when I had CFS. It made me so energetic, I
thought yipeee this stuff is great. Then I realized how much caffeine
Green Tea has in it! I tried making it with herbal tea and it changed
the culture so I lost it.

Do you make yours with Green Tea? Or have you found a way to avoid the
caffeine? What else do you like about Kombucha tea. It was sure fun to
make and watch it grow!

I wonder if it could be dried and ground up then added to the paint to
reduce odors. I may just ended up painting on days when I can open all
the windows and run some fans. I think I have found a paint that has
fairly low odor, Kelly Moore, at least the primer I buy from them is not
too bad. Some paint has pesticides and mildewicides added. One of them
is an azole and I know my husband can not take azole drugs, he turns
competely red with a whole body rash. So before I actually purchase any
of their paint I will check and see what it has in it in the way of
azoles. Thiabendazole may not out gas, so I will have to ask them that
too. I know they do not disclose pesticides because they make no claim
for them, but in the past I got really sick after a rent hous was
painted the day before I moved in, but I was still sick with CFS
secondary to Candida then. I am much healtheir now.

The low VOC paints like AFM do not have the same durability qualities as
regular paint I am told. Does anyone know about this?

Thanks again Ed for your generous offer. I may take you up on it.
