Dear Betsy,

Welcome aboard and thank you for posting your questions.

You ask:
> ... Is it okay to post facts or questions that are health related but
> not necessarily CS related? If I have something I want to share about
> alternative health that does not have to do with CS, should I post it
> here or on the off topic list?

This a good thing to understand. It's a fact of life that people will
always come along with questions like "What can I do for <fill-in-the-
blank?" . There's no preventing it, so instead we make the best effort
we can to help people.

You can bring any reasonable health-related question to the list, and
anyone can answer in any way they believe will be helpful. Some answers
will be related to CS and some won't.

I only ask that non-CS-related discussions be kept short, and be ended
or migrated to the OT list or elsewhere once basic information and
major resources have been provided so people can follow up on their
own.

I'm not averse to the occasional broadcast of a "I used <such-and-such>
and it worked for <fill in your disorder here>..." type of comment, so
long as it's not something you've got a professional or commercial
interest in and it isn't so frequent that it overwhelms the list.

I've posted a couple such items myself in the past.

Anything that might be commercial self-promotion needs to be cleared
with me in advance. Religion and politics are prohibited, except for
the occasional passing "God Bless" or other pleasantry, or a heads-up
on items of importance to CS or major alternative health regulatory
matters.

Lastly, there is a certain amount of humor, chit-chat, and,
importantly, support and encouragement that is necessary to keep the
place friendly and welcoming.

I hope that helps, Betsy. Send me or post here any such questions you
have, anytime.

Be well, all,

Mike Devour
